We welcome you in La Roche-en-Ardenne in the late afternoon and hand over your complete file. You already have the opportunity to try out your mountain bike. Evening meal included.

Day 2

La Roche – Maboge – Dochamps – Cielle – La Roche (47.8 km; +1055 m)

This first stage invites you to explore the forest landscapes surrounding La Roche-en-Ardenne, as well as the villages of Maboge, Bérisménil and Cielle. The route, 47.8 km long with a vertical drop of 1055 m, is a good balance of varied terrain, including some fine climbs and easy descents. This stage offers an ideal introduction to the natural splendor of the Ardennes, combining the wild beauty of the forests with the rural charm of the local villages. Whether you’re new to mountain biking or an experienced mountain biker looking for a more relaxed experience, this stage offers a moderate challenge while remaining accessible and enjoyable.

Day 3

La Roche – Beausaint – Maboge – Samrée – La Roche (44.4 km; +1107 m)

This second stage offers you more magnificent scenery. Over the course of this 44.4 km day, with a cumulative climb of 1107 m, you’ll pass through the picturesque villages of Roupage, Maboge, Samrée, Bérisménil and Cielle. This stage offers a varied experience, mixing physical challenges with stunning panoramic views that reward your efforts. Passages through lush woods and country trails offer an immersive experience, while views from hilltops provide moments of quiet contemplation. The difficulty is carefully balanced, making this stage a memorable adventure for cyclists of all levels. Whether it’s the challenging ascent to Roupage or the exhilarating descent to Maboge, every segment of this stage has been designed to offer an enriching and diverse experience, capturing the best of what the Ardennes have to offer.

Day 4

La Roche – Marcouray – Rendeux – Vecmont – La Roche (46.9 km; +1155 m)

This 3rd stage represents the ultimate challenge on this journey through the Ardennes, with a demanding course of 46.9 km and an altitude difference of 1155 m. This stage takes participants through the villages of Marcouray, Devantave, Rendeux and Petit-Halleux, offering a variety of terrain and landscapes that captivate and challenge. Steep climbs and technical descents test skill and courage, making this stage a real test for even the most experienced mountain biker. Despite the high difficulty, the spectacular views and the opportunity to experience the best the Ardennes have to offer make this a memorable conclusion to the Traversée des Forêts. Every pedal turn brings its own treat, whether it’s the climb to Marcouray or the descent to Devantave. It’s a true celebration of mountain biking adventure in the Ardennes, with a stage that rewards not only with unforgettable panoramas but also with a sense of achievement and triumph that will remain engraved long after the trip is over.

Day 5

La Roche – Vecmont – Lignières – Marcourt – La Roche (50.7 km; +1291 m)

This final stage takes you on a memorable journey through La Roche-en-Ardenne and the neighbouring villages of Vecmont, Lignières, Hodister and Marcourt. Departure from La Roche-en-Ardenne takes you first to Vecmont, a small hamlet nestled in the heart of the Ardennes. Then it’s on to Lignières, known for its rustic charm and verdant landscape. In Hodister, expect more challenging terrain, with wooded trails and rolling hills. Finally, the route takes you to Marcourt, a picturesque village along the Ourthe River, before returning to La Roche-en-Ardenne. The course combines lush forests, quiet country roads, challenging climbs and panoramic views of the Ourthe valley. Whether you’re looking for an exhilarating adventure or a peaceful ride through charming villages, this optional stage offers a rewarding mountain biking experience.
