Program
Day 1
Lapoutroie
Welcome to LAPOUTROIE, a charming village nestled in the heart of a magnificent valley surrounded by meadows and fir forests. Situated on the border between Alsace and the Vosges, this village is renowned for its tasty brandies and famous Munster cheese.
Day 2
Lapoutroie – Bonhomme (14km; +810 m)
This hike takes you to the summit of the Brézouard massif, which reaches an altitude of 1229 m and forms the northern boundary of the Hautes Vosges. From here, enjoy superb panoramic views over the massif and the Alsace plain. You’ll then continue on your way through the Bagenelles, before ending our day at BONHOMME, a pretty mountain village.
Day 3
Bonhomme – Orbey (16km; +530m)
You’ll head for the Étang du Devin, a marsh rich in floral varieties and rare species. This wild and protected site offers a captivating atmosphere. You’ll continue on to the Tête des Faux, a summit named after the beech forest (fau in Old French) that once covered it. Here, we discover remnants of the 1914 war, as this area was a front line during the First World War. You then continue on to the spectacular Lac Blanc, a high-altitude lake set in a glacial cirque at around 1050 metres, overlooked by the curious “Hans” rock. Finally, you arrive in Orbey, the land of a thousand streams, at the foot of the blue Vosges mountain range.
